Gaussian splats use a single (view-dependent) color per Gaussian primitive. But this creates a problematic coupling between appearance and geometryโhigh-frequency textures require many Gaussians to represent even for simple geometries. We address this using per-Gaussian texturing

The color of a splat is spatially constant, impeding use in modeling. GStex solves this at little to no cost to FPS or PSNR.
